About WaveTinker

WaveTinker is a browser audio studio: 30 free tools for changing how a track sounds, editing and converting files, and practising music, plus a studio page that chains several effects in one pass. It is published by BiLingoPlus LLC, a small independent web publisher that builds free reference tools.

What makes it different

Everything runs on your own device. Your browser decodes the file, our code processes it, and the result is encoded back to MP3 or WAV without your audio being sent to a server. There is no queue, no account, no watermark and no upload limit set by a server; the practical limit is your device's memory.

You can compare the result with the original at the same moment of the track, change a setting while it plays, share the exact settings as a link, and pass the result straight to the next tool.

How the tools are built and checked

The audio engine, the time-stretch, the loudness meter, the tempo and key analysis and the tuners are our own code; MP3 encoding uses the open-source LAME encoder (see licenses). Before every release, automated tests check the engine against known signals: pitch within 5 cents, time-stretch length within 10 ms, loudness against the ITU-R BS.1770 reference levels, BPM within one beat per minute on click tracks, and all 24 Camelot codes. How it works explains each method and its limits.

Who writes the guides

The guides under each tool are written for WaveTinker following a written editorial policy: AI writing tools help with drafts, and every statement about a tool is checked against what the tool actually does.
