Short version: your audio never leaves your device. WaveTinker counts page views with Google Analytics 4 and never receives your audio, your recordings or the names of your files. The sections below say what stays in your browser, what that counter records, what the host of the site still sees and what your browser loads.
Your audio
Files you open are decoded and processed in your browser; they are never uploaded. The tuners listen to the microphone and work out the pitch on your device without recording anything. The mic test shows your input level the same way; when you press Record 5 seconds it records a five-second clip and plays it back in the open tab. The clip is never uploaded, the page does not save it, and it is gone when you close the tab. The voice recorder keeps a recording in the browser tab until you save it. The hearing check only plays tones and does not use the microphone.
What stays in your browser
The last file you opened, and any result you pass on with a “continue with the result” link, are kept in this browser's own storage (IndexedDB) on this device, so the next tool can open them. The studio remembers your last five chains, and tuners remember your last tuning (local storage). After your first visit, the site's scripts and the pages you open are kept in the browser's cache so they work offline. None of this is sent to us; clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it.
Analytics and cookies
Page views are counted with Google Analytics 4. It records the page, the referring link, your browser and device type, an approximate location from your IP address and a device identifier; we read it as totals per page and never look up an individual.
It records the address of a page without the part after the # sign, where a settings link keeps its knob positions, and it never receives your audio, your recordings, the names of your files or what you type into a tool: those stay in your browser.
Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization are refused on every page and in every country, so nothing measured here feeds advertising profiling. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the analytics storage is refused as well, by default and without asking: those visits still reach Google as page views, but the counter writes nothing to your device and keeps no identifier from one page to the next.
Outside those countries Google Analytics 4 sets its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy, named _ga and _ga_ followed by the property identifier; they tell one browser from another, so a second page in the same visit is not counted as a second visitor. Inside those countries it sets none. No advertising cookie is set on any page. The site itself adds none of its own; what it keeps in your browser’s storage (listed above) stays on this device. The tools work the same if you block the counter with a content blocker or Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

What your browser loads
Your browser fetches one outside service on the pages of this site, and this is the whole list:
Google Analytics 4 — counts page views so we can see which pages are read. Your browser fetches it from www.googletagmanager.com and sends the page views to Google’s collection servers under google-analytics.com and analytics.google.com, and outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it sets its own cookies under its own policy.
Everything else — the tools and their audio code, the MP3 encoder, the sample track, images and styles — is served from this domain. No tool sends your audio, a recording or a file name to Google Analytics 4 or to any other outside server.
Hosting
Our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and requested page, for security and reliability.
